Many affiliates are now choosing to focus on specific markets such as live poker rooms, progressive jackpots or other niche markets within the industry. This has proven to be a very lucrative way to do business and you can target your marketing campaigns into these specific niches.
If you study your player sign-ups with each affiliate program you can test different commission structures from CPA to residual profit share to squeeze the maximum percentage cut from each program. This testing and tracking is the difference between an ordinary casino affiliate and a casino super affiliate. The more you test and track the more information you will receive. This information will be invaluable to you so you can monitor and change your marketing campaigns accordingly.
If you study the commissions you have made from one affiliate program and are on a profit percentage then it has to be worth calculating what your commission would have been if you would have been on a CPA set-up?
Sadly, the few minutes it takes to do this testing and tracking is beyond most affiliates because it sounds like too much hard work. This is where the ‘super’ affiliates cash in big time. Those affiliates who are prepared to go the extra mile will get the rewards. I will go into more details about testing and tracking in another chapter.
Testing & Tracking = Increase In Commissions
So after a little bit of research you have decided on a casino affiliate program to join and have completed the online registration. You are all excited and can’t wait to generate all kinds of traffic for the casino and are eagerly looking forward to your first commission check. Now comes the tricky bit…how do I start promoting the casino with the limited marketing tools the casino has provided?
Many casinos leave you out on a limb at this stage of the proceedings. Why they do this I do not know? Surely it is in the best interests of the casino to educate their affiliates by providing an introduction to the vast arena of Internet marketing.
If the casino programs coached their affiliates with a simple to follow marketing plan then surely their business would see the benefit of this. It would surely be a win-win situation for both parties? I am not talking about personal marketing tuition here, just step-by-step guidance pointing the affiliate into the right direction.
This for me has to be one of the most disappointing aspects of the business. I am sure other affiliate programs in other markets share this predicament. Providing a selection of banner designs in various sizes is not enough. This failure to provide marketing support and schooling leaves the affiliate at the mercy of thousands of scam artist marketing web sites out there hovering like vultures waiting for their prey.
Everyone has seen these tempting100,000 hits for $25.00 predators or be mugged by the ‘Get Your Web Site Listed in the Top 5 of All The Major Search Engines in 7-days’ for only $50.00.’
Tantalizing as they are, try not to succumb to any of these types of advertisements no matter how enticing they appear. You know what they say about things that sound too good to be true?
